Cessnock Nights: Wine Tours, Chilli Beer & Easy Camp Cooking

After three nights at Ironbark Down, a peaceful HipCamp just outside Cessnock, we wrapped up our stay with a mix of winery memories and camp comforts.

Yesterday was a full Hunter Valley tour – beautiful locations, boutique wines, and a brewery with a twist. Instead of filling bottles, they pour your beer into special cans where the whole top comes off, giving you a glass-like drinking experience. My pick? The chilli & ginger beer – like chilli chocolate, but in a pint.

Today was quieter, catching up on work before cooking a simple stir-fry with steak, Hokkien noodles, and fresh veggies. The perfect way to warm up on a crisp NSW evening.

Next stop: Sydney for a short break in a “real bed” before heading south to Cooma and Jindabyne.
